How to Become a Web Designer ……?
by I’ve been considering a career change recently. I’m bored with what I do, a telesales role in the city centre. The work’s ok, I just go in, do the work, get paid and go home. But I’m quite a creative person and need some sort of output! I’ve tried loads of different hobbies, but I think really I need a job that is going to let me be creative.
I’ve always fancied web design. I guess part of the attraction is that it pays really quite well, and also once you’ve learned the skills you can work any where you want – even from a tropical island!
I’ve thought about what I would call my Kingsbridge web design company. I always try to be witty and I though of “Spider designs” (like spider web!) or Webbed Foot or something really bad like that! Maybe I would need a bit of help choosing my own company name. LOL!
I have had a brief look in to web design courses. There are loads of different ways to learn, which is good, but it makes it pretty confusing to work out which way is best. Some of the courses are so expensive and I wonder if you really get what you pay for. When looking in to web design Devon courses I found a lot of online courses, but I think it would be a lot better to go to a classroom course as I find learning on my own pretty difficult. I’ve also found loads of free information on the internet about learning web design from home so don’t really see why it would be worth paying for a purely online course. I might start looking in to university degrees… but then that opens a whole can of worms about where to get course funding from etc. If only I could win the lottery, life would be so much easier!
