How to Write Effectively

                              To write effectively is to communicate clearly to your audience, so work at clarity and keep your audience in mind. The way you write your paper is not very different from the way you should write any other discourse. As in any piece of writing, you should vary sentence structures and sentence length. Writing, in so far as possible, in the active voice rather than the passive voice will help keep readers moving along. You should also write specifically and certainly avoid unsubstantiated generalizations.

                              Consistency in the way you write is particularly important and to write a good content, you are expected to adhere to a number of stylistic customs. Here are some of the important things you should consider in writing your paper:

Unity and Coherence

                               A unified paper is one that deals with a single subject and has a central idea it sticks to about the subject. If you have chosen a subject carefully and prepared a good outline which you basically stick to as you write, you may be certain that your paper is unified. Don’t get carried away with ideas that you strike you while you are working, for disgressions detract from the unity of a paper.

                               A coherent paper is one that hangs together well, that not only holds the attention of readers but also helps them move from one point to another. A well-structured outline from which you write a carefully organized paper helps tie everything in it together.

Adequate Support

                               Writing that simply tosses out ideas has little believability, no matter how worthwhile the thoughts may be. On the other hand, were those same ideas supported adequately, they would demand credence and even acceptance by readers.
