Want to know a simple way to have good health or recover from illnesses more quickly? Take time every day to enjoy life and think something positive. Scientists found that positive thinking actually have a therapeutic effect.

The researchers stated, positive thoughts even the simplest behavior such as imagining a cute baby can make people smile. This approach proved successful in patients suffering from various diseases, including coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and asthma.

Weill Cornell Medical College study of 756 patients found positive patients have a better health level. The findings, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, examined patients randomized to indicate whether the patient is positive thinking can help change the behavior of the three types of disease.

One group of patients are encouraged to think simple things that make them feel better, like watching the sunrise or sunset when you wake up from sleep. Patients were also asked to recall the boast of the things they had ever had such a marriage. While each of the control group were given only a guide for their health. Both groups were given guidance on their treatment.

At the end of treatment, researchers found that 52 percent percent of patients who think positively are more active and exercise more than 37 percent in the control group. In patients with high blood pressure, 42 percent of positive thinking groups adhere to their treatment plan compared to 36 percent in the control group.

Dr. Mary Charlson of Weill Cornell Medical College says, “Positive thoughts affect the way a person follow-up behavior for the sake of their health,” he said.

The approach is simple, according to Dr. Charlson, giving the patient a tool that helps them fulfill a promise to yourself to do things for their health.

He suggested that someone noticed the little things in order to relax the mind. And be sure to take the time to enjoy it again every day. “Think of something fun every waking and recall the little things that you like or a happy event,” he said.
