Nervous About Attending College?
In this article I will tell you and encourage you about attending college.
Are you worried or scared about attending college? Whether you are just graduating high school, or going back to school for your masters, college can be intimidating. Until you probably meet your roommate, you will be very nervous and intimidated. As a very self-confident person it really didn’t run through my mind about attending college, but I did know many people who were. Many colleges and universities have summer camps that help the students transition into the college world. I urge you to attend the camps they offer, because after it is over you will feel more confident about move-in and leaving your home. You will also make a lot of friends, and have something to talk about at the beginning of school. If you are going to live in a community dorm house, get to know everyone on your floor because you are gonna have to see them for an entire year. If you are having trouble being homesick, I would tell you to spend time with your new friends to get your mind off your family. Another issue is being worried if you will oversleep. Get 2 alarm clocks, place each one of them on opposite sides of the room so that it forces you to get up and walk. For those that are returning to college after a break, you know how it works so set the example for the new students. I looked up to those who were returning to college because I got to see their work ethic and how involved they were during class. College is supposed to be the best time of your life, so enjoy it because its only one step closer to your career which means 8am-5pm days!
