Online College Became Trend in America

Americans increasingly interested in online courses because the costis relatively cheaper and more flexible time.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recently initiateda Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) or open an online college inaugural mass. The university plans to offer a variety of non-credit courses free of chargethrough a project called MITx.
So far, most of the courses offered online are computer science, technology, mechanics, and engineering. For example, students around the world to take a free course called “Building a Computer Search Engine.”
The two computer scientists, Sebastian Thrun and David Evans, offers this course through udacity.com. Evans on leave from the University of Virginia, where he became assistant professor.
Thrunis a professor and researcher at Stanford University and researcher sponsored by Google and create a car with automatic steering. There is no requirement that applied to take the course.
Students watch short videos.Later, Evans said, they took a test that is not rated informal after watching the videos every week for six weeks.
“The tests are part of the courseand continue to make the students involved and thinking, sothey can know if they understand what we teach. The tests were not graded and students can take the tests as often as they want, “said Evans.
They can be repeatedly watched the videos and take the tests whenever they want. Students are also given homework. They participate in online groups to exchange questions and answers about the course.
Lecturers provide time for students to answer questions sent to them. They also provide questions and observations of students. Students attend the final exam to determine their rankings.
For acomplete take courses that are given final grades and diploma. Thrun start Udacity, which supports free MOOC. Udacity hoping to make gains in the future by connecting companies and students interested in working in this company.
Stanford on his website he said he wanted to “democratize” education. Education, he said, should be free, accessible to all people anywhere and anytime.
