Online Education is Growing and is Here to Stay
The ability to deliver educational material on the Internet has changed the way education will grow in the future.
It has become a 100,000,000,000 dollar industry and is offering literacy on many subjects that were never offered in school: Finance, Real Estate, Success etc.
WEBUCATION IS IT’S NAME
Education for many subjects, never taught to us, is now easily learned on the Internet. The process was named by Peter Drucker as Webucation. Drucker was an internationally known marketing professor.
He said in a Forbes article in 2003 “Our continuing education is creating a new and distinct educational realm. And is the future of education. There is a global market here that is potentially worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
About every 500 years mankind is presented with a paradigm change that is truly life changing. Just about 500 years ago the discovery of gun powder completely changed how we went to war. And we did more of it.
In the past 100 years technologies have moved faster than ever before. The paradigm changes are growing beyond any one human’s ability to comprehend.
The Microchip is only about 50 years old, and can now carry information on the size of a pin’s head that would previously require dozens of pages.
This has allowed mankind to accelerate his power to absorb information, and to be taught different skills at a rate far greater than the world of traditional schooling could even comprehend.
It is now possible to package all of this information on to micro chips and deliver it through the Internet at the speed of light.
When that information is properly assembled and distributed to the public at large, many every day people can garner enough of the legal process to prepare a defense or launch a legal action. An individual can become informed about the details that a doctor does not have time to explain, regarding your current ailment.
Much more importantly, given the time required, any one of us is capable of financial literacy so that no one is talking “over our head” at a closing table when we are purchasing a home.
The skills needed, to better navigate through life, such as negotiations, are available at the finger tips of the young and old alike.
Now, some have gathered an assembly of subjects, or curriculum that seems more important than many of the subjects we learned in school. These collections are available to everyone at a very affordable price.
Some are available through Jr. Colleges but are unfortunately more costly.
Many middle class folks, and others in both directions, are surprised to learn what they were not taught in school. Sure we learned the fundamentals but even through higher education, many of the needed skills to compete were just not there.
For example:
1. Financial literacy
2. How real estate works
3. Negotiation skills
4. Raising children
5. Trading stocks and currency
6. Wealth fundamentals
7. Success fundamentals
Many asked, “I am in liberal arts, why should I learn competition?” Because Life Is Competition. In some form or another millions are now learning that they must be better educated in Life Giving Skills.
That is not to say that professionals are not needed to cover the many details in some of our life’s endeavors, but because it is now available, many humans are choosing not to stand on the side lines like a potted plant, they are choosing a new way of educating themselves at a very reasonable price.
It is called “webucation” and the paradigm is moving world wide with very little notice from the major media.
It has occurred to me that the major media has selected an audience which is more easily manipulated without the skills needed to navigate life. If they simply believe what they read, it is much easier to get them to vote as you want, or to purchase what you are selling. It is a form of power that has been played by governments, religions and news papers alike. However with knowledge properly packaged on the Internet and distributed to all… the weak and the strong…the educated and the uninformed…the nice and the not so nice.
An education in life’s many secrets will now prepare many children for what we had to delay until information was made easy to find ….subject by subject.

Good article, Jack. I agree that this is a great time in our history. There is so much knowledge available now to the average person, and more is coming online all the time. Schools and universities seem to have finally woken up to the possibilities of online education, and they’re offering more courses. There’s hardly any reason why they can’t offer everything from a single course to a Ph.D. program online now. As I said, good article!
