Out of the Mouths of Babes

Wealth presents many questions but do we always pick the right option? Education can teach us right from wrong but only we have the ability to avoid taking the wrong path.

“What would you do with a pocket full of gold?” said a young teacher to her class of seven year olds. “I’d buy a push bike”said one, ”A new computer,” said another, “All the chocolate from Asda,” said a third, but one little girl remained silent.

The teacher posed another question to her class. “Who would you share your new found wealth with?” Mom and dad” said one little boy, “My best friend” said a little girl, but the little girl at the back of the class remained silent

Slightly puzzled by Rasheeda’s silence, the young teacher asked, “Rasheeda, what would you do with a pocket full of gold, and who would you want to share it with?” A slow smile spread across the young girls lips as she looked up to her teachers face. Without a bat of an eyelid the young girl replied. I would buy all the rain that God would sell me, and, I would share it with all the countries in the world that suffered droughts.”

Nice story Nadine. Thanks for sharing. We often take for granted our many blessings, and it takes a child to show us our selfishness. Well done friend.
