its funny you all should say that, but do you not know that homeschooling was the only form of education since the begining of time..the smartest people that we know or read about are self taught (schooled at home). dont be so quick to judge and everything is for everybody

Homeschooling leads to socialy retarted children who cannot cope with the eyery day life that public schooled children can. When faced with problems with compromise, teamwork, diversity, or even bullies, they just crumble and fail. Do not homeschool children.

Mind citing the research?

There are good experiences, and there are some VERY bad ones. While some homeschooled children are allowed to socialize outside of the house, at my church there are some egregious examples of the reverse. There are children that are not allowed to do anything (literally) without parental or church supervision. They are so ridiculously sheltered that their social development is stunted beyond belief; the 5th grader still sucks his thumb and the 16-year-old cannot hold a conversation with anyone his own age. All of his friends are like 10 years old. He stayed in our church's program for 3rd-5th grade boys until he graduated the eighth grade; he has never seen a PG-13 or R-rated movie, ever, besides The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia. He isn't even allowed to see The Passion of the Christ. Wherever he goes, at 16, he must be accompanied by an adult church member or one of his parents. They get Dish TV but have it set so that you need a code to watch anything other than Sky Angel. The 16-year-old is occasionally allowed to watch Fox News. This family comes to church on Sunday with each male child dressed exactly like their father. Then at the church I go to youth group at (different church because my church of 1000 people is mostly made of families such as that), the homeschooled kids are a different story. Most of them were at one point very sheltered and now drink, smoke, and have sex at every chance they get because they have been given a little freedom. I'm not saying that all homeschooling is bad, but so many parents do it for the wrong reasons (to shelter their children from anything not strictly Evangelical Christian) that their children end up a mess.

this article makes a lot of sense. as much as i believe i would dislike home schooling a lot of the statistics show its good. there would be plenty of things i would be missing out on but there is also a lot i am missing out on by not being home schooled. Gives me a lot to thing about.
