Good points made in your article. I wholeheartedly agree that teaching our children at home in any and all ways is important, especially reading. Whether it is the parent, grandparent, aunt or occasional sitter. We empower our children by what and how they are taught at home. Through patience and consistancy we give them the tools that they need and will use throughout their time spent in school. I always have believed we learn much first at home and then go out into the world and role model was we have been taught. You for the most part can tell what kind of a home a child comes from by their actions outside of home. Some is inherant and a lot learned at home. You have mentioned many really good ways to help our kids to be the best they can be. We hope and pray for the best and with all their successes can take heart in the fact that we have taught them well.
Great article, an important one for all parents to read...hopefully more will follow these early year teaching skills.

Thanks,
