Plan Teach Succeed

I hope you have a better understanding of my educational philosophy as it applies to pre-school age children.  I believe my description of the pre-school student is clarified regarding my understanding of physical and motor, social-emotional and cognitive development.  I’ve created ideas for curriculum that incorporate the standards and goals useful to children entering kindergarten.   I have not provided a daily schedule as I would like to discuss or witness what is already in place to know when, where and how these new projects and activities might fit in with your already existing curriculum.  In defining assessment, both formal and informal, I only hope to convey that records of learning success are important to me as part of a bigger team.  I hope you are already using them.

The planning of a classroom and its curriculum is more than just a map or script that will be followed.  Its importance lies in what communication it opens up among members of the educational team.  It is a fact that everyday will hold different experiences, changes, challenges and learning opportunities that cannot be mapped out in advance.  That is why an instructor’s planning is so important – it keeps our feet planted in something we can return to when life’s little (or big) storms hit.
