Public School vs. Homeschooling

Which is truly better for a student?

There is always the argument between whether a child should be home schooled or go to a public school.
There is no correct answer to this exactly, but one can at least get an idea of what they want.

I find 3 big topics on this, I’ll explain them one by one.

1. Socialization - A child needs it.  A child growing up without any socialization will be bland, and dull, he needs to get out and have fun with children his age.  You don’t get a lot of this if your home schooled, you’ll be at home with no one to talk to, unless you have a neighbor, so at least consider that.  This also leads into the second problem.

2. Bullies - A child does NOT need this.  As a child, I faced a lot of this, constantly being pushed about by kids older then me, tripping me, poking me, anything they could do to amuse them self and cause me misery.  This is a huge problem with public schools, and its a major influence on a child.

3. Education – The whole reason they’re going to school is for education.  I believe that Homeschooling will always have a better education, they get all the attention on them, where as at public school, you’re often cramped in a room with 27+ people, that means that the teachers cannot work with you all the time.  I got 2 minutes maximum per teacher a day from my mentors because they simply didn’t have the time.

There are other topics such as cost and what not that I won’t delve into; Picking these is a decision that has to be made.

So you decide, and talk to them, or talk to your parents, depending on who’s reading this, and you should decide whats best for you.
