First of all realize and analyze the meaning of the term “Education”. What is education?
Education is a controlling grace to the young, consolation to the old, wealth to the poor and ornament to the rich. Education means the process of development from infancy to maturity. it begins at birth and continues through out our entire life, till death. That is “from womb to tomb” as everybody calls it education includes all types of moral values and the ethics such as knowledge, discipline, culture, tradition, power and so on. It also includes experience acquired during infancy, childhood, adolescence, youth, manhood and old age through any source of education.
The main aim and purpose of education are specialization whereby individuals may become effective in fields of human endeavor. It also aims at unification or attainment of those common ideas and common modes of thought.
The examples quoted above show that education’s main goal is to transform and uphold to transmit the culture and mold an individual as a whole.
A good and unbiased education inculcates good moral values among the people. Moral development of children lies in the coordinated efforts of parents and community.
Education also makes direct and indirect moral instruction along with cultural education.
Education and culture are inseparable, both of these pertain to well-defined people. It is what makes them distinctive. It awakens that uniqueness and specific human element.
Education is to create a fully developed man who is progressive and successful and serves his society in the best way.
Education is must for every individual. Aristotle rightly said “Educated men are as much superior to uneducated as the living are to the dead”.
Today’s children are tomorrow’s nation builders and only an educated nation can achieve its goals.
