Respect Lost

Only when we respect our own self then can we respect others.

Life is no longer worth living if our self-respect is lost. I believe that respect and self-respect both go hand in hand. The value of self-respect might be taken for granted but it is what gives foundation to our basic need to give respect to ourselves and to others. Only when we respect our own self then can we respect others.

I also believe that the family values what is inculcated in a person as a child by his parents and home environment make him to grow as a mature, self-respecting, and responsible adult.

Respect is a word which is lost among people, for them it’s a word merely in a dictionary. A student might show respect to a teacher because he ultimately has to get marks and attendance percentage from them. The acknowledgment that a teacher gets from his students just ends as the teacher leaves the classroom. This is the state of affairs of our society.

We are losing as a nation. We must be honest cops, politicians, businessmen and professionals. We must restore respect for others. The punishment should fit the crime. Otherwise, this society is going down the drain.
