Say It Ain’t So Joe
Joe Paterno’s legacy will now be one of disgrace and with it Penn State’s Reputation.

Last evening Penn State Officials determined and rightfully so that its beloved head football Joe Paterno must go. In doing so, they hopefully can begin anew to restore their storied football dynasty and their own credibility. It wont happen anytime soon.
Mr. Paterno it appears was too busy seeking the national championship to oversee his coaches shocking behavior. He should have noticed that the “great” Jim Sandusky, once rumored to be his successor, had a keen eye on tight ends but not the kind that catch footballs in the end zone.
Sandusky, now being accused of child molestation by at least 8 victims was not baring his soul in the locker room at half time but rather his genitals in the shower. At least one of these despicable deeds was witnessed by another coach in Paterno’s reign of deceit. This other coach who did tell Paterno of the incident still remains even though he should have wondered aloud why his account went no further. Papa Joe in turn reported the matter to the Athletic Director and the school President. These two “gentlemen” never reported it, and Sandusky “retired” at 55 with high honors. I cant imagine why he left, can you?
If Paterno and the rest truly were worried about their students, their football players and their university’s integrity, Sandusky would be playing tight end himself for the past 10 years. Instead, they chose to close their eyes, suggested that ole Jim take his pension, and continue to reap in the rewards of being a power house football team with a legendary coach.
Ultimately Penn State officials canned this trio of greed and betrayal but it will take a long time to have talented football players want to enter this program again. It will take a much longer time for Penn State to have its reputation and integrity restored. Papa Joe, your legacy is now secured, but not the way we all had hoped. You let us down! Say it ain’t so Joe!
