School Uniforms
Are they good or bad?
There are benefits and disadvantages of implementing a school uniform. Firstly, implementing a uniform for all students to wear will boost a school’s reputation and in turn attract more applicants to be interested in enrolling. Secondly, a uniform helps increase the professionalism of a school. How the school looks and presents itself to the wider community such as in advertisements, impressions and previous students. In addition, the respect a school gains from having high standards, good organisation and impeccable neatness is important in the public eye. This ultimately is how the school is portrayed to the public. On the other hand, there is one main disadvantage to a school uniform, the cost. The expenses a school needs to invest could be overwhelming to new establishments. Additionally, there is also the concern of affordability. Most schools run on a state government system and find money not to be abundant at times. In brief, a school uniform can positively or negatively portray a school.
