Schools Out For… Winter?

How schools in Appalachia America, got out of school early for impending weather, while buying 12 gallons of milk?

Today, on the  5th of February 2010, around 5 am, I turned on the television only to see that nearly ALL eastern Ohio schools, have been set for a early dismissal. The next thing that came on was our slightly obnoxious news anchor spouting off about how Walmarts, K marts, and such were all having massive shopping waves, brought on by very afraid people of the “harsh” winter storm. So, my father and myself decided to go and see if this was true. Sure enough we found it was. The first checkout isle we past, a woman well into her age, was taking her time in placing one at a time, 12 gallons of milk and around 4 loaves of bread. Slightly chuckling at the sight, I realized that in that weather report, only 11 inches of snow, WHY!? would these people buy sooo much food, if they would probably be out of there houses in the next couple of days, frankly I cant see that old woman being a haunched as she was, if she really drank 12 gallons of milk a day. But that’s only one of my gear grinding issues today, we went back to see just how devastated the poor dairy isle was, constantly in the back of my head wondering if all the cows in America could recuperate after this epidemic of moo juice genocide, and there it was before me EMPTY shelves for the milk, and two isles over the bread had maybe 20 loaves left! Stunned at the sight I left, and went back to my cozy little house with a nice big fridge completed by only 1 gallon of milk, and the bread box next to it dwindled with 3 maybe 4 slices left, snugly grinning to my father and my self that tomorrow we will wake up and the roads will be scraped and snowing time dwindling, and I will drive myself to the closest convenient store and buy some new bread.
