Should Obama Give Speech for Schools?

Despite criticism for last year’s back-to-school speech, President Barack Obama plans to give another one.

A federal education official confirmed that Obama will give a nationwide speech to school kids on their first day back from school, according to the Associated Press. After his last speech, on Sept. 8, parents questioned why they weren’t told about the address and some criticized it as propaganda. Even school district officials, some who declined to screen the speech live, said it interfered with school academics and lunch.

In the last speech, the president stressed that students needed to work hard and accept the responsibility because education was too important to ignore.
