Silly Bandz Ruining School Everywhere?
The silly bandz have become a worldwide distraction in schools and are being banned in school all around the world.
We all have seen wrist bands that are wavy and colorful, but are they harmful? School in sevral states like New York, Texas, Florida and Massachusetts don’t allow the “Silly Bandz” in their school any more.
Teachers say their a distraction at school. Some teachers and principals wanted a school wide ban. They say their distractions because children are trading them for other bracelets. This means they aren’t doing their work. This is one of those school “Fads” that have caught on very fast like Pokemon,Yu-Gi-Oh, and Magic that have always been a distraction to small children when doing their work. The company in Ohio had to increase workers from 20 to 200 employees in the past. The company sells millions of Silly Bandz each month, and its just a bracelet!
The company even recieves fan letters for these bands. For example i found this one on yahoo.com. “Some schools in New York have banned them, but we have ideas that might change that … clear silly bands that teachers can’t see and only glow in the dark.”
the name will remain private for his sake. As you can see these “Silly Bandz” are a world wide craze for kids everywhere even China!
Yes that’s right even China has Silly Bandz. Japanese artists made a rubber band that was very cute and decided it was worth to sell. These Bandz have been out for two years but started catching on a year ago in Alabama, New Jersey, and Tennessee. At the moment their starting to become popular in California and Texas.
These Silly Bands are a distraction. Kids fiddle with them in class. They trade them. Kids are doing everything possible to avoid doing the work and Silly Bandz aren’t helping. Kids are finding secret ways to conceal them without teachers knowing such as sweatshirts or any long sleeve T-Shirt. If they do ban them I believe that kids will go back to cell phones.
