Social Manipulation
Education is not what it is built up to be.
Education has become a tool to judge people who can pass academic tests. For those who can not measure up to these social rules, life becomes unbearable. Jobs are not given to people who are hard workers, determined or ambitious. Jobs are not given to those who have natural talents and abilities. Jobs are not given to those who are guided by common sense and compassion.
Jobs are given to those who have academic skills and can retain information long enough to pass academic exams. Jobs are given to those who were lucky enough to never be sick, or spent years bringing up children so others could move on. Jobs are given to those who are related to, or friends of, employees, or employers. Jobs are given to those who took classes to write up impressive resumes.
Education begins at birth and ends at death. Being able to pass academic tests, does not make a person more educated, or more intelligent then the next one. All it does is fit that person into a mold that society has allowed educators to set up, to weed out those who can not fit the mold. The self-educated are unacceptable for not obtaining a piece of paper — giving them advantage over others.
No one speaks up for the forgotten many, who can not pass all the exams. Graduating from high school is only the begining. At every corner of the job market, tests are given over and over again. Academic tests that have no merit to the type of work being applied for. Those who can not pass the tests are the slaves of joblessness and hopelessness. They become the pawns that are recycled by agencies that claim to help the poor find jobs. These agencies feed off the poor to gain their own incomes. No two people are the same. No two brains operate the same way. Yet, all children and adults are expected to learn the same way. The ones who can follow the path of academic skills are headed for success. Those who can not fit into the pattern of society, are doomed to crime, prison, homelessness and misery. People who make the rules, fit into the mold, and they expect everyone else to fit the same mold.
Some people march to a different drummer, because they can not stay in step to the same drummer. Does that make them any less intelligent? Why is intelligence measured only by academic skills? There are many “Educated Fools” who are academically blessed, and can pass all the exams to gain them degrees. Those degrees get them good paying jobs, even if they don’t have a lick of common sense, or a grain of compassion.
Many intelligent people with good common sense and natural talents and skills, are turned down for jobs, just because they can not pass some academic enterance exam. People are not judged by their individual abilities. They are only judged by way of test scores, and passing exam after exam for everything, even if the exams don’t relate to the job applied for.
Academic Education has become the focus for control in the work force. It is a form of manipulation to make everyone the same, when everyone is NOT the same.

Yes, it is comforting to know there are others who share my feelings. Many seem unaware of the many types of intelligences. Nicely written and I can certainly relate.
