Study Smarter and Get Better Test Scores
How to study better and improve test scores.
I was an average student in high school. When I entered college I realized the only way to get better grades in school was to study smarter. I bought every book I could find on how to take tests, study and improve my memory and focus. I ended up earning a 3.0 gpa when I graduated from college. Studying requires a certain dedication on behalf of the student. If you are not willing to dedicate time to studying, all of your efforts will be wasted.
Allowing yourself at-least 1 hour a day to study in a quiet and private environment will increase your grades. In addition, depending on how many courses you are enrolled in you should read the assigned chapters at-least once a day. Professors will assign one or two chapters per course, per week. If you read and read the assign chapters at-least once a day and outline important points and definitions on 3×5 index cards (to carry with you) you will get A’s on every written tests.
The important definitions and points you extract and place on index cards can be carried with you and read anywhere at anytime. Whenever you have a break you can read them and eventually, they will be committed to your long term memory.
Use a tape recorder in class if allowed and take notes. While at home relaxing, eating and sleeping, you can replay the tapes in a much more relaxed environment and possibly pick up on important points you missed in class.
Nutrition and getting proper rest are important as well as studying in attaining good grades. Eat a proper balanced diet and get a good night’s sleep before you take a test. If you follow the routine for studying above you will not have to stay up and cram before a test.
Follow this advice and get A’s no matter what kind of student you are. Study smarter, get good grades.
