Supplies for Home-Schooling
With the situation as it is in America today I have decided to once again home school my grandson. There is currently a lot of talk about the Child’s Corp of Mr. Obama’s which is highly reminiscent of the Hitler days of German. I have recently heard that flu shots may be given to school children this coming year whether the parent or guardian desire it or not. In view of these revelations I feel it is best to go back to a home school environment.

Once a decision has been made to home school supplies must naturally be obtained. In order to teach as a teacher you must be prepared to do so. Naturally the list of supplies will be nothing similar to the ones issued by the public school each year the ones that are on the list are essential. I had previously discovered that when it comes to school supplies we would completely run of some while others would last the complete year. Different age groups and grades would naturally reflect upon the supplies needed as well. Lastly, you must remember that with each family the supply list will be different. What you may teach and how you teach it could be very different then the way I would do it.
If for some reason we go into some sort of lock-down or must bug out to an alternate location do to an emergency or a failure in the infrastructure then school supplies will become very difficult to obtain. Simple items such as paper and pencil that we usually take for granted may not be available. Since in hard times past people have had to resort to the use of any paper type product that they could locate such as old can labels, packing materials or cardboard boxes to use as something to write on. It would certainly be beneficial to stock up on those items even if you are not home schooling your child.
School supplies do not go bad so they can be vacuum sealed and save for a long time if necessary. Since I only have one child to contend with it makes the situation much easier. If you have several then you will have to consider dividing the school needs into the various age groups. After which they should be once again divided into subject areas.
The age groups would be high school, junior high, elementary or Pre School. In my case I will be using the elementary level grouping. Next I will make use of the following subjects: math, history, English, science, art, music and phys ed. My goal this year will be to instill within him the confidence to perform basic skills as well as to improve those that he already knows. He will be permitted to remain on a subject until such time as he is fully confident in it. Once he is comfortable with the subject we can continue with something new and not have to go back and forth for reviews. This system tends to build his self-esteem while ensuring that they get a well rounded education.
