Teaching and Degrees
Choosing the right path for your future career.
It seems to me that a lot of people are choosing careers that are not appropriate for them. Sometimes this is due to parental pressure, other times it is for the money. But a job is not longer a job once you enjoy what you are doing. It becomes a chore if everyday you are stuck in a job and work place that you do not like or enjoy. It is about the challenges, the pleasure, the pressure and the team with which you work that makes all the difference.
It seems that teaching is a way out for many people. “Ow, I’ll just do teaching until I figure out what I want to do.” I feel cheated when hearing this. It is not a job, it should be a pleasure; to work and teach children, to be an influence and a guide. It seems unreasonable to think that some people would want to take this opportunity away from those that have a real heart for it.
I believe if you are doing something for the sake of having a degree then it is not the right path for you. In effect you are also taking away a job opportunity that someone else may value more then yourself. But it is not about putting people off trying to become teachers that I am aiming for it is to question their motives.
Think before you act, in any situation and especially in regards to what you want to achieve and what field you would like to be working in.
