The Child’s Environment
About children.
A child watches all that goes on around him.He draws his conclusions from what he sees , and he searches for guiding lines for his behavior.During early childhood he must make adjustments to and learn how to handle both his inner and his outer environment. He spend most of his first year experimenting with and learning how to handle his body. He learns how to move his arm and legs in co-ordination so that he can change position and grasp what he wants. He learns how to make his body function as he desires. He learns to see and to interpret what he sees;to hear, feel , smell , taste, and digest. As time goes on, he learns how to use his intelligence and to accomplish the tasks confrnting him.In all these accomplishments he learns how to handle his inner environment. He discovers his abilities and his deficiencies. If he meets with difficulties or is faced with a handicap, the child will either give up or compensate . Sometimes the child will even create a specila skill when he is confronted with a weakness.
