The Fallen Standard of Education is the Fault of Students
Fallen standard of education is the decline of interest in education caused especially by students.
Some students are too proud of themselves which makes them to insult their teachers, even fighting them;they think that they are above the school rules and regulations.Due to their inadequate interest in the class, they end up failing or dropping out of school to become a nuisance to the community.
Furthermore, according to the poet,George Awoonor Williams,he said:”the firewood of this world is for only those who can take heart and that is why not all can gather it”.Most students desire to own expensive cars and mansions when they are still in high schools. They strong desires to have all these things as early as possible make them to forget about education and drop out of school in order to make money.
Also, most students, through media and friends get corrupt kind of sex education;when student’s interest in sex and friendship becomes stronger than their interest in academics, the result is usually failure and poor performance in the area of education.
Finally, some students whose parents are highly placed in the society always find it difficult to be serious with education. They are either absent from school or come late because they strongly believe that money is everything.Instead of studying hard, they would prefer engaging in examination malpractices which will make them worthless graduate because they cannot defend their certificates.
With these points mentioned above,I strongly believe that the fallen standard of education is the fault of students and I suggest that seminars should be conducted in various middle and high schools pointing out to them, the importance of education.
