The Importance of Safety Officers at School

One of the most important things that you can have in your school is safety. If there is no safety in your school, there is no chance that your kids are going to learn. If anything, they will spend more time worrying about getting beat up, or their lunch money stolen. Even worse, concerned parents are just going to take their kids out of school. So yes, there is an importance to having safety officers at school.

I remember in high school that we had a couple of people who would roam the halls during the day making sure everything was OK. I grew up in a fairly high income school, and while I wasn’t exactly born into money, I was still in a district where you could make the case that things would be safe already. While in high school I realized that I was wrong, and that anything can happen anywhere.

Even in the suburbs it seems you will run into people who just have problems acting like civilized people. There were still fights in the halls, and it seemed like there were always problems with people stealing other people’s property. Even in the suburbs, there were still people were hell bent on making other people’s lives a living hell.

It wasn’t that people didn’t have anything, there were plenty of people who were well off, but there was that greed factor. People were still getting into other people’s business. That meant that there had to be someone there who was patrolling the hallways, and of course there was a person in the parking lot making sure nobody got in who wasn’t supposed to be there.

You have to keep in mind too that even if you are in a safe district, you have to be worried about people coming in and causing trouble. Child predators, and other recruiters love to stop by the local schools and cause safety problems, and other issues for the students, and the school as a whole.

Schools are a dangerous place to be potentially. There needs to be someone there who can keep the kids safe, and keep an eye on things when the kids are in class. It keeps their mind on school, and not on any character who could be lurking in the shadows. Safety officers really are needed in schools, or at least someone to keep an eye on things for the school.
