The Six Types of Students

Through long hours of schooling and experience around students, I have managed to separate them into six distinct groups based on their behaviour in class.

1) The Boffin

The typical Boffin will usually be attentive in class, contribute often, work hard, and achieve high grades. Due to this, they often generate much envy with the other students. The Boffin will strive to get the top grades, willing to make life for the the other students harder if necessary. The Boffin will often complain of arm ache from their excessive contributions, but must put their hand up to say this.

2) The Pet

The Pet is a sub-species of the Boffin. Though they generally get good grades, this is not due to working hard or being clever. The Pet will achieve high marks by extreme sychophanting, and will earn the teacher’s affection. To do this, a typical Pet will flatter the teacher by complimenting appearance, giving small gifts, and being generally obedient.

3) The Unprepared

The Unprepared student is distinctive to being consistently late without a good excuse. They will turn up to lessons lacking any of the materials needed for class. On top of disrupting the class with unpuncutality, the Unprepared will disturb everyone by asking for books, stationary etc. Do not expect the Unprepared to have done any homework.

4) The Absentee

The Absentee is an extreme exaggeration of the Unprepared. They do not even bother turning up to the lesson at all, due to dentist appointments, funerals or alien attacks. Sadly, this is all that is known about the Absentee, as they are rarely seen around school.

5) The Loudspeaker

Anything that the Loudspeaker is thinking will inevitably be announced to the entire class. Usually bold and arrogant, the Loudspeaker will speak his/her mind without fear of being judged. The Loudspeaker is rowdy and uncontrollable. Usually, when in trouble, the Loudspeaker will simply announce it proudly. Threats such as “Would you like to share that with the class” usually are not a good idea to deal with them.

6) The Dunce

Though studious and hardworking, the Dunce simply will not understand what is going on in the classroom. Sometimes ridiculed for his/her stupidity, the Dunce will not take offence, as they usually do not understand. Confused most of the time, there is not much that can be done with the Dunce. At least they are quiet.

What type of student are you?
