The United States Public Education System and Private Schools

U.S. Public Education

Our education system provides an education for nearly all American children. This is highly praised by nearly all Americans as it is difficult to educate such a vast population. Americans pay for this through taxes. They send money to the U.S. Government who then sends it through a large bureaucracy until the tax money eventually reaches schools.

The one problem is with this concept, is that all the people through whom the tax money goes through, take some of the money because that is how they get paid. When the money gets to the school, albeit a smaller sum, the school then proceeds to pay the staff and faculty.

Teachers, Principals, Janitors, Counselors, etc. who provide the American children with their education.

Public schools may not provide as solid of an education for students, but where they do excel is socially. They often provide an excellent environment for students to make many friends and meet people they may not otherwise come in contact with. It gives them an opportunity to stand up for themselves and form their own opinions and beliefs. 

Private Schools

Private schools by contrast, do not receive tax dollars from the government. They have to charge the families for their education. While some may argue it is less expensive because you don’t have to pay education taxes, but in reality Private school are generally more expensive. They do, however, provide a solid education and the classrooms are smaller most of the time. This means teachers have more one on one time with their students and can generally provide a better education academically.
