TOP 500 Universities

The Hungarian Eötvös Loránd University is amongst the top 500 Universities according to QS World University Ranking. This ranking list has been exisiting since 2004 and they consider different dimensions for the evaluation. The dimensions are:

International Faculty which is mostly about the international activity of the University (No. of exchange students for example)

Academic reputation is based on a survey that has been distributed worldwide academics by QS.

Employers reputation is also based on a survey.

Data indicators like student faculty ratio or citations per faculty. 

To be honest I am pretty surprised that my University is amongst the top500. I do not feel that we have such a great institution that could be considered as a palace of science.What I miss is not the money or the infrastructure here. I just simply do not find my University encouraging and creative enough. My expectation is when it comes to Universities that it should be a creative thinktank, a place for freedom of speech and ideas where we can exchange them encouraging each other. 

In this term I think majority of the Universities fail.
