Uniforms, The Weapons of Conformity

Why should kids have the choice to not wear them? Well most kids cant afford
them considering the way the economy is right now.With everyone getting laid off from ford,
Gm and other jobs.So if they cant afford them then why not just wear the clothes that they already have
in their closet. If you wondering how they can afford normal clothes and not uniforms simply they could just
shop at value village, Walmart and other discount stores. This is just some of the economic reasons I have listed for not having to wear uniforms, being from the west side I can relate to the concern.

In conclusion, students should not have to wear uniforms for a couple of reasons such as it limits their freedom of expression, it teaches them that they do not have to think for themselves and it could seriously jeopardize their parents financial situation. The solution is to allow students to conduct a vote through a survey in order to determine how they truly feel about wearing uniforms. Rules should be put in place to make sure that students do not offend anyone with their choice of clothing and discipline should be the result of a violation of these rules. This way the students are treated with respect and given the same responsibilities as adults in terms of making their own decisions and obeying the rules and sanctions deemed necessary to enhance the overall quality of life.
