University Tuition Prices Raised in the UK

And article about the raise in tuition fees for universities in the UK.

A number of University Chancellors are pushing for the current cap on undergraduate University tuition fees of £3,500 to be scrapped, meaning that in theory at least fees of up to £30,000 could be charged per year of a typical undergraduate course.

The government has been claiming that this will not put off people going into higher education, the public are saying otherwise.

Universities are talking of charging from £4000 to £20,000 a year, which if this goes ahead it will leave people paying off student debt well into their 50s and more and more people will have to wait longer to retire. Teenagers who are looking at going to university in the next few years will have to start thinking how neccessary it is. Or will it work out so only higher class people go to university and take up back in time to when classes set people apart?

What will this rise in fees go towards? No-one is quite sure, maybe better facilities, better wages for the tutors….or is it all a big plan to pay off the large amount of debt our country is in?

Whatever the reason, it will not encourage people to go into higher education, and it will encourage this countries reccession.
