Using Poetry to Teach
Among the many teaching and learning strategies and styles, try poetry.
Ever had any subjects you can’t interest your children in. They’re just not interested in math or science or history.
Well, there’s poetry written on almost every subject.
Find poems that you think your children might be interested in. These can be children’s poems or any poems that might have an interest and appeal to children.
You can even find nursery on various subjects.
When you can’t interest your children in these subjects read poems to them, poems that rhyme and free verse and haiku.
If you’re teaching gardening, there’s poetry on gardening.
If you’re teaching astronomy, there’s poetry on astronomy, otherwise called astronomy poems.
If you’re teaching about presidents, there are many poems on presidents, including poems written by president, and there are even presidents who speak poetically.
You can also have your children write poems on these different subjects.
Writing poems also can help to interest children in many different subjects.
Children who like rap can also write rap poetry on different subjects.
You can teach music by writing poetry. Children who like jazz can write jazz poetry.
You can listen to classical music and write poetry.
You can teach about the different peoples of the world by reading their poetry.
You can write read and write poetry about almost every subject that children find not interesting. Poetry can help to interest children in learning. Poetry can help children to learn.
Among the many other strategies of teaching and the many styles of learning, try poetry.
