Job opportunities with a Chemistry degree.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry is a very popular choice of degree amongst students these days. It’s popular too with those looking to employ graduates. Employers are clamoring to get a hold of the inquiring and analytical minds inside the heads of most chemists.

As you can probably imagine then, if you have a college degree in Chemistry, you have a whole raft of jobs to choose from in industries as diverse as pharmaceuticals, plastics, building, and agriculture. You can travel the world as a researcher or practitioner in any of these areas – or find employment right in your own backyard. The choice is yours.

Chemistry is a challenging and interesting degree program. You will find the principles and ideas of chemistry can be usefully applied to the production of various materials and consumer products that we just can’t live without these days. Chemists too have made invaluable contributions to saving lives and relieving suffering in a variety of ways. Who do you think produced all those antibiotics? – Chemists, of course!

The development of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides has had a major impact of alleviating hunger and famine in the under-developed world. Yep – Chemists did that too! You can help to make a real difference to the world and people’s lives. Most people would give their eye teeth for a job like that – and with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry you can have your pick of these jobs.

So – you have great reasons to study a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry – now you need to find yourself a course which offers you flexibility and a balanced degree program that allows you to follow your specific interests within the subject. Whether the program concentrates on traditional pure or applied Chemistry or on combined or applied Chemistry, it should provide you with some core modules which all Chemistry undergraduates should follow.

A Chemistry degree offers you access to a huge range of careers, many of them very well paid and rewarded. How would you like to develop new drugs to help combat diseases such as cancer? Do you want to make new cosmetics (ethically, if you choose to!); would you like to work with designers and others on the materials for consumer goods we all love? Do you have ambitions to save the world for future generations?

Those careers are just for starters, before you’ve even considered the most obvious careers of teaching and research and commerce – all possible with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. I told you – the world’s your oyster – and as a Chemistry graduate, you could travel it as you pull in the money. Go for it and have a great time – for the rest of your life.

    I have been working in Metallurgical Assay Lab for 18 years. I have Seven passes at 0 level including maths,science and english. I want to do a related degree with distance learning collges or you can advise.

    i cant decide what i want to do after i leave college i want to go to uni and enjoy chemistry. How much money do most people make in these kind of jobs
