While Waiting for Admission

Many secondary school leavers do not really know what to do with themselves and time-during their waiting period. Many by their actions lengthen their waiting period. While others jump in without full discovery of what is required to go through the higher institution and come out a full baked success ready to make an impact on the society.

I have come to understand that destiny differs and success depends on our definition of it. To some the speed lane maybe safe, while to another the slow is his destiny route. Amazingly, those from the slow lane last longer at the summit of success because they have garnered enough lessons and the tenacity to withstand the challenges at the top.  

Sometimes we set our eyes on success and miss our step for not looking downward to pick up its principles. Other times, we zoom to the top without the lesson, training and trails that should make up our story. Courage, patience, perseverance and purposefulness are lost in the process of cutting corners to success. As morality, the understanding and application of life’s principles are on the decline, note that impatience is the robber of long lasting success, while idleness is the mother of evil imagination and distorted understanding of life.

I will not like you to be ignorant of the fact that education is not restricted to the four walls of the institution. Opportunities are flying around and only a ready, wiling and flexible mind can grab them. The period of waiting for admission can be used to develop talents and discover new potentials. It is a time for you look into the society to find a vacuum and create solutions to the world’s problems.

The world greatest discoveries were done outside the four walls of the university and later developed during study periods in the institution. These were done by men and women who found purpose and pursued its course. Education is the process of searching for knowledge and understanding its principles and application. Knowledge on the other hand is the product of information and information is flying even in the air we breathe. The information you grab determines your knowledge, while your understanding of its principle in practice and application determines your level of education and achievement. You can become a professional without entering the institution of higher learning. It all depends on your ability to seize opportunities.
