A Black Man in the White House
by A brief look at at a black president and the challenge of change.
This election a lot of emphasis was put on the fact that after all these years there is now a black president. I do admit that this has been an historical election, one that will go into the history books of our children and our children’s children. I find it interesting, though, that this comes at a time where the economy is really screwed up and the world seems to be crumbling from up under our feet. Do we think that by bringing a black man into the White House that this will bring a change to our current situations or circumstances. I should certainly hope so. I think America chose to appoint this man to the position of Commander in Chief, not only because America is in desperate need of change, but also because we as a country, as a people, have used up all of our other options. The election of president Obama was not because of his color but because of his character and I commend America on it’s courage to step up to the challenge of change. However in all actuality the fate of the world is not in the power of one man. We as a people have to realize that all good things come to an end.
