Is It Racism or Simply an Excuse?
The constant secreaming about race is getting old. Americans from all ethnic groups are tired of the constant whining by classifying many issues as racial.
Today in America all we here is how someone or something is racist. This has gone on for decades but recently it is getting very boring. I guess that goes along with having a president that is part Black. There has been an increase in advertisements on television that have more Black American’s in them. I have no problem with that because they are supposed to be equal to the rest of us. But what gets me is the increase in calling issues and actions as racist when the only racist element is the one that is using that term.
To look at this in a reasonable way let us look at the South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson. Yes he did say, “You lie” during President Obama’s speech to Congress. He has admitted it and did apologize to the President. That should end the outcry. But no as usual it has been considered he is prejudice against the President. Now in that circumstance both were wrong and both were right. House bill HR 3200 does not have anything about abortion in the bill. But the amendments that are being attached do. Did President Obama try to fool the citizens of America or did he not have a clue on what was going to be in the amendments? Joe Wilson should not have done that at that time. You can disagree with the man but still need to respect the office. But he felt that the President knew about the amendments that were going to be in the bill and voiced his opinion. According to Jimmy Carter it was based on race. But we all know that Jimmy Carter has a few screws loose. Too much peanut oil can cause abnormal brain functions I am told.
I have been told that because I wrote about the high percentage of Black Americans that are in prison I was racist. I am sorry but the fact is fact. Is there racism in America? You bet there is and every time someone plays the race card for something it only escalates the situation instead of calming it. Racism is not as bad in the northeastern states as it is in the southern states. But it is here and when we do have a President the is Black then we should be very careful and not use the race card every time someone gets upset. What it boils down to is a cop out.
