Is It Time for African Leaders to Relinquish Blind Leadership?
A look at African leaders from independence till present day. Zimbabwe is going the way most African countries end up, a review of the most difficult period in African political history.
The following countries are my focus for this article, but by no means the only once with bad corruption and bad leadership.
Nigeria
After 1960, the country went into a civil war in 1967, which i thought was nepotic, but that is not the main topic of my views, my may concerns are the mis management of national wealth through selfish military leaders. The one that stands out the most is Sani Abacha. The military robbed the country’s wealth, ruined the economy, impoverished the people, fostered ethnic and religious divisions, intimidated the press, politicised state institutions and executed, jailed and assassinated dissidents. there was a massive cycle of misrule which no one could challenge. how did a man like this gain the reigns of power? he was not an erudite, he was not charismatic, he was a crook with a gun.

Liberia
Here is another African country with a childish dispute which brought to ruin a whole nation. it all started with the Sargent Samuel Doe, then finished with a fraud Charles Taylor, they did war ever achieve any prosperity for the people? NO, did it help settle the causes of the conflict ? NO, did Liberia come out a better country with re-development of the infrastructure? NO, how amny more NO will i have to write before the message is clear. Another failed African state.
Uganda
What did idi Amin do? Nothing, he was power drunk and started to talk RUBBISH. he could not even defend his own boarders, all he could do was attack his own people and totally destroy the moral fabric of a society he claimed to rule.

Zaire
This was the biggest social experience that went wrong, a con artist Mobutu took control with help from the west, which often is the case, and went about some of the most ridiculous policies anyone country has ever implemented. ie the zairianization of its people? the looting of the economy by one man and the building of palaces in France and Belgium . did he help his people? NO, where are the people today, fighting as always.

These are a few examples are l can briefly write about, but we could perhaps have a rule of thumb for judging them the rules are as follows:-
1. Has the leader stayed for over 5 years?
2. Can the people feed themselves?
3. Is there rule of law?
4. Is there a structured educational system?
5. Do people feel safe (security)
