Justice and Love

One time, there was a theft of cattle owned by a member of the tribe. Received the report, Chief gathered his people and said that anyone who did the theft would be caned 20 times. He hoped that such threats can stop the theft.

In a given place and time there is a chief. He is highly respected not only because of his physical prowess, but also wisdom in leading his tribe. During his tenure laws actually enforced so that all members of the tribe feel safe.

But, three days later, there are more people who complain about losing another of his cattle. Chief disappointed. And he told his people that he has raised the threat of punishment to be flogged 50 times. Once again, Chief hoped that the theft was the last.

He was wrong. Two days after notification of the threat increases, there are still people who reported the loss of his possessions. Chieftains are not disappointed again, but was furious. And, he raised the threat of punishment to 75 lashes.

A week after that, there was a crowd in one corner of the tribe. People flock. In the midst of the crowd was a young man of 20 years collapsed after being beaten tribesmen because the goat was caught while trying to steal the tribal people. They interrogated him and found that it was the same people who have committed theft of a disturbing rate.

People then took him to the presence of tribal chieftains. With downcast face, the young man walked into the house chief until he arrived in front of the tribal leaders. Chieftains approached to try to see the faces of young men who had been stained with blood. How shocked he was, it turns out the young man is his own son.

Chieftains face a dilemma. Should he run as chief justice by carrying out the threat of flogging it 75 times, or was he as a father who loves his threat to cancel the execution of the sentence. He realizes that both his role is not a must dipertentangan, but must be harmonized. He was a wise man.

Chieftains utter that sentence should be implemented. The law must be applied indiscriminately. Citizens, although deeply moved, the more impressed with the leadership of their leader.

The next day, the young man with his back had been tied up naked on a pole in the middle of open fields, with a big executioner who holds the whip. He was on duty that day the young man whipped back 75 times.

From the top of his seat on stage, Chief with great grief, ordered that the sentence be prepared. Last command will be provided by the Chieftains own. The executioner took place near the youth, and prepare his whip. When he lifted tanggannya the highest position and await the command of Chief, he had not heard the command to flog, but “Wait …!”, shouted the Chief.

And, Chief hurried down near her son. Arriving in the presence of the executioner, Chief undressing his greatness, and has come closer to his son. Chief residents were surprised when suddenly embraced his son who is bound in the trunk and put the entire chest in the back of his son so that the whole body of the great chief who covered the entire body of the youth.

Chief then gave the command of execution. Each time the whip struck the body of Chief, he told her “I love you, my son …!”. It was then that justice and love to be a harmony within the same time and place.

Greater harmony again, ie, between Justice and Love GOD was manifested on the cross of Jesus who died for us. Are we now still have the heart to crucify Christ again with our sins?
