Pure Africanness
It doesn’t matter how highly educated an African may be, there are certain traits that are just purely African, period.
If you are an African Living in Africa, chances are that you will experience 5 out of 10 of the following behaviours:
- You unwrap all your gifts carefully so that you can reuse the wrapper
- You call a person you have never met Uncle or Aunt
- More than 90 percent of the Music CDs and cassettes you use are illegal copies
- Your garage is usually full of stuff because you never throw away anything however old they look.
- Your children have annoying nicknames
- You have almost always had to carry overweight baggage when traveling by plane
- No body in your family informs you that they are coming over for a visit so it is not surprising to find uncle, nephew, niece sister-in-law mother-in-law all camped up at your home without notice.
- You only make telephone calls at night because it is cheaper
- Office supplies mysteriously find their way to your home, staple machines, pins, and reams of paper
- When you are young, your parents buy you clothes and shoes at least 2 sizes too big so that they would last longer
