Racism

by MidnightBlackSun in Ethnicity, July 23, 2009

Just a little thought on it, and what I think is and isn’t racism.

Is anyone else tired of every little misconception being labled as racism?  Racism isn’t calling someone a name, or making a racialy incensitive joke. Racism is having a passionate hatred towards a race or group of people.  Now granted, I’m Caucasian, Don’t think when you call me a cracker, I’ll take immediant offense to it. I preserve that first ammendment, the right to free speech. I wouldn’t really care what you call me. You’re just exercising your first ammendment and I respect that.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t get to call you anything like that. Oh no, If I do respond with a racialy incensitive joke, don’t even take it seriously. Nothing is more hypocritical than making a joke about one race, but complaining about a joke towards your race. It makes you look stupid, and it also shows you cannot take jokes seriously, and prevents you from being known as a sociable guy/girl.

Now being Caucasian. The common steriotype would be rednecks and such. But there’s a limit to that. One, I’m not born in the south, which ousts the redneck steriotype, and two, considering I’m in the north, which is where KKK reside, granted in Ohio.  I’m a fairly decent guy, I don’t judge people by their skin color, or by how they look. I only judge people on what they do, which I think is fair enough.

To end this little rant. I’ll just say this.  If you use Racism to make the other man feel bad, then I suggest you think over that, and see how much you’re disrespecting your race.
