Many black male ministers, and a few women evangelist are quick to point out the role that the black churches has played in society. And, that was a complete different time and era that they are speaking about. When you compare the black mega churches today tackling social issues isn’t even in their program.
Many churches compete for publicity about helping the homeless. And that’s great and close to, what is require in assisting the poor? But, where most black churches are failing the African American community is, by hiding in fear, of taking on tough decisions.
If, you want to enhance the black community that many times its failure is blamed, or on the political establishment. They need to address church members, who child is thinking about joining gangs, and committing crimes. We constantly hearing some black males state that no one was their to help me understand this or that in life. Well ministers needs to start leading instead, of preaching to assist these youth out with offering them solution.
We see many single males becoming fathers early in life. When it would be better to wait. And, by addressing these issues in Sunday’s service sermon they night strike a nerve. Obviously, if you notice the mother’s at church and her teen child is not and doesn’t have a job. This will eventually lead to investigation that the child has planned something that will not be beneficial to them in the end.
Crime, with the black community most churches needs to reach out to the downtrodden with gladness and not run away in fear like many, of them do. Many churches are so afraid, of being in a poor community, but ask the poor to visit their church across the way.
Just put into practice, what you preach about. And, the Lord God will eventually work things out.

I agree with you. I have questioned a few of my friends who are Black Americans why they do not get involved with their communities after they leave but I get different answers. The church should be the unifying model and the healing balm of the people. It means involving everyone in the community in supporting the single parent in parenting as well as fighting poverty and old way of thinking.
