What Does Halle Berry and Kate Middleton Have in Common?

Halle Berry and the father of her child  Nahla, Gabriele Aubry have called it splits for at least a couple years now.  Her daughter is about three years old now and cute as a button.  If anyone remembers the story, the riff was partly because Mr. Aubry didn’t want to have his child classified as “African American” or “Black”.  The other issue was their age difference of 9 years (that’s not even Cougar difference actually).  I wrote about that on this very site when it happened.  I was so disenchanted with people and their reasoning on Race.  If people are getting so close that they pro-create, what is this thing about identity?  As a woman, I feel that Halle is protecting her child, who is obviously not so-called “White” but looks like her mother.   So what was the big deal?  There could very well be one because indeed Mr. Aubry, on second examination does have a reason to want what he wants  his daughter referred to as well.  He is the other half of the child!  These issues are not really complicated I do not believe, if two people really and truly love each other.  These are issues that shouldn’t turn a relationship sour, but should draw two people closer while the WORLD speculates and makes claims.  So there!

I don’t look at Halle and think bi-racial first. I never did, nor did I know that she was until the Media began to talk about it.   I simply think of her as a pretty looking lady because there are so many in my Culture  that look exactly like Halle but are not classified this way  at all and personally, I do not care. Never did and never will.  The world gives out labels like that to separate folks when actually, when it comes down to it, it’s kind of senseless.  But this subject means a lot to some people who struggle with identity themselves.  The only thing I can really speculate though, is that Halle makes strange choices in men.

Now, how did Kate Middleton get into this? Oh boy, glad you asked.  The point is that Halle wants to live in and raise her daughter in France.  Her Lawyer has argued that the French Paparazzi is kind to Celebrities.  Oh really now and since when?  With what the French Paparazzi just did with Kate Middleton, and also having caused the untimely, horrible death of the World’s most beloved Princess Di, Aubrey’s Lawyers just may make a case for Halle not taking their daughter to live in such a place so notoriously in hot pursuit of Celebrities.  But word is that Halle can probably live where ever she wants with her child.  Still, Halle and Aubrey have always had a 50/50 custody deal.

The Jury in my head is out on this.  It is obvious that you won’t be able to do much in France without all of your linen hanging out on a bush to dry!  Seems like Halle is far more daring than I thought. She says so little, I have never been able to gauge her, but then, I haven’t been that interested either.  She seems to want to seem more mysterious than she probably really is.  Now me, I’m mysterious!  Just kidding, but get me right, she is not so mysterious, but rather seems a little put-off by people …… anyway, I hope the best for her if she does make that move permanently and sincerely wish her and her daughter the best.  And for goodness sakes, I hope she claims a good man where ever she is! :)

It may not matter where Halle Berry goes, if they want to get in your business they’ll travel far to do so.
