What Makes a Good Leader?

Leadership skills can be learned and trained. Experiences hone that great leader everyone would look up to. Some may have been born with the innate skills of leading but others have just been molded by their experiences as a follower. Yes, good leaders are good followers. It pays to know how to become one in order for you to have an initial grasp of this complicated role.

Leaders are both a challenge and inspiration to their followers. People with leadership skills know how to become motivations for other people to do their best and become better. If a leader fails to inspire others through good works and words, the rest of the community or organization would cease from dreaming big and working for it.

Great leaders are good examples to their constituents. They are being look up to and given the highest regard that is why they should act accordingly. Whatever actions are observed from the leader will eventually be imitated by the followers.

Good leaders also know how to explain reasons for procedures and instructions. They don’t just give orders. They see to it that people under them are able to understand why they need to follow and why they should comply with the rules. They should be a le to show that these rules would be beneficial to everyone.

The ability to make own decisions and the humility not to seek for further limelight are two essentials of a good leader. He should be able to be firm and concise in decision-making as sign of stability of thought and well-being.

Being a leader is not an easy task. But after you have been trained to be one, the rewards would come right into your hands.
