What Part of Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself Can’t You Understand?

I’m married to a black woman, because she happened to be the one I fell in love with, not because she was black, but because she was beautiful to me, inside and out, funny, kind, she seen me for who I was. We have been together now for around 24 years now. I love my wife as much now as when we first met.

When I met my wife most of my family said it was a fad, it will pass and to dump her and get a white woman. All those who said that have been divorced and remarried or a few times. When we go to visit they never have much to say except complain about why I don’t come and visit more, you notice I said I and not WE!

My wife and I have a nine year old daughter and we are Seventh-day Adventist christians. We lived in Florida and had my daughter in a private Adventist Christian school. She was getting b’s and c’s, with white teachers. We knew there was something not quite right, she would come home and tell us stuff about like how this little white kid had spit a mouth full of candy “chewed up candy” in her desk all over her stuff. We knew we did’nt like this, or other similar things, and the school only went to the eighth grade any way. We really wanted her to be able to go to a school that was more like a regular school as in having more students like her and go all the way to the twelfth grade, so we started to research on the web and found Oakwood.

We decided to move to Alabama and put her in Oakwood University Adventist academy. Now she has black teachers, much more, and harder studies and is a straight A student.

My wife and I both work hard and pay for her tuition. I work at a hospital, and my wife at a middle school in the kitchen. Now you would think that all is well, but the people that live here still treat black people poorly, very poorly. especially in public school systems.

What I really don’t understand is why. Why does this beautiful place that our wonderful Creator has made for us have to have so many hate mongers in it? Why can’t people see that the acts of one individual does not make all of that race of people that way? We all are of the HUMAN race. We all BLEED the same color of blood. We all have a brain, and We all have feelings.

Please try to accept the fact that we are all on this earth together and we all need to live tolerant of one another and Respect one another.

No particular race is better than any other.  We all have the capability of learning, lets learn from each other!!!

Teach racial tollerance and random acts of kindness; start teaching from the upbringing.
