2012 Phenomenon: Fact or Fiction?
2012 Conspiracy and Phenomenon.
December 21, 2009 a symbol to many as the date of a cataclysmic event, and others as a new beginning. I would like to overview some of the main supporting causes.
The Mayans
It is agreed to most, that this is an important day to them, marking the end of their calendar (13.0.0.0.0 in the Long Count). Although some scholars argue about the date this occurs. Also, many argue what significance it plays to them, whether it is the end, or a new beginning.

Prophesies
Thoughts of Nostradamus, Merlin, and Mother Shipton are thought to have relevance to this, scholars argue the fact that they do.
Science
On 11:11 the winter solstice will occur adding even more to the conspiracy. It is also thought that geomagnetic reversal will occur on this day. NASA says that the earth is overdue for a change but it will take 5,000 years for it to complete. Some think that the planet Niribu (also known as Planet X) will collide with the earth. It will reach its closest proximity to the earth at this time. It is criticized by scientists as it breaks multiple scientific rules.

All of the information is clearly speculation backed up with mild supporting facts. We won’t know what will truly happen until the day comes.
