Alligators in The Sewers Legend. Terrifying Urban Legend

The Statute of Liberty resides in New York, but did you know that New York is home to Alligators? Many years ago, a few New Yorkers were vacationing in Florida. These New Yorkers thought that it was a good idea to bring back baby alligators to New York for their children to raise as pets.

Question: What kind of parent thinks that alligators make good pets for kids? Not good parents.

The infant alligators had to grow up and stopped being cute, angry to say, that these New Yorkers at some point they flushed the alligators down the toilet to get rid of them. I guess, these people never thought that the gators would grow up one day.

Some of these alligators managed to survive and breed in the disgusting sewers of Manhattan. The legend has it that these gators produced a large amount of giant alligators beneath the streets of New York City. Until the day, the creatures remain completely hidden from the human eyes, but they didn’t remain hidden for long. There have been a few encounters between sewer workers and alligators.

The reports of the sightings:

June 2001- in Central park, a small alligator was spotted and he was captured.

November 2006- According to the police report, a two foot-long alligator was captured outside an apartment building in Brooklyn.

August 2010- Another alligator was captured in Queens after being spotted hiding under a parked car.

Facts

Sewers are full of rats, cockroaches, waste and sickness. I doubt they would survive the harsh winters in New York, I mean not without a man supplying heat for them. I don’t think the sewers are warm enough for them, let alone the smell of waste.

The legend is like any other; UFOs, Bigfoot or Lonch Monster. People believe in those stories because they want to believe in them.
