Are You Destined to Be Rich?

You don’t have to slog your guts out or play the Lottery every week to get rich. Some people are destined to be loaded anyway. Join us on the mystical money tour and discover whether you’re one of them.

Monetary Omens

There are hundreds of omens and superstitions linked to money and the making of it. Here are a few of them…

* To accidentally catch your clothes on thorns is the sign of impending money luck.

* If you see a dappled horse, there’s good fortune ahead, especially if you’re a gambler. But if you see it tail-end first, swap that good fortune for bad and expect to suffer a money loss.

* Finding a spider on your clothes means you’ll soon be receiving some dosh.

* Money luck will soon be yours if you see a little red spider.

* Seeing a lone lamb means you can expect peace, prosperity and happiness.

* An encounter with an ox on a road means financial gain

* To hear the call of a cuckoo from the right is an indication of coming prosperity. If you hear it from the left, you’ll still be in for some dosh but not as much.

* There are many lucky days associated with money. According to superstition, if you’re going to gamble, you’re most likely to win on the following days of the year: March 3rd, 5th, 12th,17th, 24th and 26th; April 5th, 9th, 15th, 18th, 21st and 29th; June 1st, 3rd, 11th, 19th, 21st and 23rd; October 15th, 18th, 21st, 24th, 26th and 28th; December 6th, 12th, 15th, 18th, 25th and 28th.

* The best stones to wear if you want to attract wealth are agate (especially fortunate for Geminians, but not so hot for Virgoans and Pisceans) and/or pink and grey jasper.

GET RICH QUICK – THE SPOOKY WAY!

Whether you’re supernaturally destined for a life of luxury and lolly, here are a few strange rituals which may bring about the desired amounts of dosh.

Bed Bonus

If you place your bed with its head towards the east, you’ll become instantly richer.

Chanting For Cash

A few years back, “designer buddhism” was all the rage, with devotees chanting for wealth and material gain. The real name for this religion is Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism and it teaches that the acquisition of material goods isn’t necessarily an evil thing. All you have to do to get what you want from life is chant the following:

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo

Do it over and over and intersperse the chanting with your material requests (i.e. “I want to get rich quick.”) It seems a bit blasphemous, but the idea is that the more you chant, the more your perception of your desires changes and the better person you become. Well it seems to have worked OK for Annie Lennox, so maybe it’s worth giving it a whirl…

Dowsing For Dosh

Although most dowsers are searching for water or lost objects, you can also use it for locating cash or other buried treasures. Using either a diving rod or a pendulum, go wandering (many people favour fields or beaches) with your chosen tool held out in front of you. When the rod or pendulum twitches, get down and start digging. For there your fortune lies!

New Year, New Bank Account

An old superstition claims that if you dance around a tree on New Year’s Day, you’ll have money a-plenty during the coming 12 months.

Holly Lolly

If you’re really desperate, this one might be worth a try…

On a rainy day, go out and find a holly bush. Clasp its stem (remember to wear gloves) and chant the following rhyme three times:

Holly tree, oh holly tree,

Let much wealth come to me.

And within three months, it will!

Moon Money

To ensure prosperity for at least a month, whenever it’s the New Moon, turn out whatever silver you have in your pockets and purse. The New Moon for the next 12 months occurs on the following dates: November 11th, December 10th, January 9th, February 7th, March 9th, April 7th, May 6th, June 5th, July 4th, August 3rd, September 1st, October 1st and October 31st.

Wish Yourself Wealthy

… by standing outside, holding a silver coin in your right hand and chanting the following verse:

New moon,

True moon,

Star in the stream.

Bring me fortune in my dream.

That night, put the coin under your pillow and your dreams will tell you how you’ll become rich.
