Atlantis: Fact or Fiction?
A look at different theories on the lost continent Atlantis, and a look at “What If”, thinking outside of the box.

Atlantis was a great continent. Plato wrote about it as early as 360 B.C. Timaeus is one of two books that he had written, Critias his second book he was unable to complete; it is not clear to as why.
Other then these two written Manuscripts, there appears to be no other primary ancient account of Atlantis. All that write about Atlantis have had to at one time or another refer back to Plato’s manuscripts, being that they are the only recordings of such an event.
In the artist drawn below is the city of Atlantis. It is a very impressive likeness to that of the real Atlantis as I have seen it to be in my mind so I felt it has earned its rightful place in this my theory on Atlantis. Many have had dreams and past life experiences that point to their living in this great city. A city that appeared to have vanished beneath the sea in what some say was a great earthquake. Others say it was an explosion of tremendous force; originating from the great city’s center, that caused it to sink beneath the sea.

Some of the ancient philosophers viewed Atlantis as fiction including Aristole. However, in antiquity there also many that did believe in its existence and they too were historians, geographers and philosophers.
Even some of the great thinkers of our time have theorized that Plato’s writings concerning the lost continent of Atlantis were nothing more then the work of fiction to fuel his political career.
However, Evidence does exist that points to the reality that such a great continent and city did indeed at one time exist. Some of the relics and ruins that lay beneath the sea point to this.
Another fascinating discovery discovered at the Maya ruins at Coba, is a tablet with pictures that describe an escape from a cataclysm depicted by exploding volcanoes and collapsing temples.

The Maya legends state that their ancestors came from a great land in the Eastern Sea; it was destroyed by a great cataclysm and sank beneath the ocean. The Amer Indian traditions refer to this land as Azthan or Atlan and other similar names that, not-surprisingly, sound very much like Atlantis.

Thank you for your comment Jrad,When Columbus told the scholers of his time, that the world was round and not flat like they beleived, they told him the same thing. “Kind of far fetched” but his mind was open and he to could think outside the “Box” and did he also not prove the great minds of his time that they were wrong. Just a little food for thought. Thankyou for your imput was appreciated.

Living in Cyprus we here a lot about the possibility of being part of Atlantis, I enjoy reading anything on the subject when it comes along, we live high above sea level yet dig up fossil shells and coral on a daily basis, you can see it in the seam of a field wall of mud. I enjoyed this work very much, lots of new ideas and facts. Bravo The Quail

Wonderful article. Very rich in information and one could tell that you did a lot of good research. I was always fascinated by this subject, mainly because I am from Malta, which is one of the countries that is believed to be part of Atlantis (according to some theories)

Interesting article.
However, a little more details would be highly welcomed on certain points such as where does this “grid” comes from? Who talked about it first? Who has drawn it? How do we know the crystals should be at those exact places?
(I just give the example of the grid but many points could be more documented).
In any case, that is still a very interesting article!

this is way out of the box but i think you are on the right line.the only thing is if you stop and think for one momint.think about mars i belive long ago it was just as our earth is today but war and hate, crime, and all of this killed the planit.some of this race came to earth and made there home here. we call this atlantis and it didnt sink into the sea it was moved on our behalf to keep us safe. but what you have come up with is very smart thinking and inpresive.

There is a myth that Atlantis was an advanced civilization created and used by extraterrestrials that were so advanced with supper technologies being used and possible experiments with life on this planet, until there was a war and then they left us. What ever the truth Atlantis has a magical mystique to its history, who knows history has a habit of revealing its self. Nice article, regards mark.

Well first page made sense very good, second page a little over the top – far fetched to be honest and then last paragraph was very good
I hope Atlantis would come up to the ground again id love to see photos of it , or even go there haha.
