Beaver Spiritual Leaders
This is an assumption of why native Americans chose a beaver as a spiritual leader.
Beaver spiritual leaders

Beavers where chosen to be a spiritual leader for native Indian tribes probably because they are the only animals that can make dams and keep the water level a good height for themselves. This makes them an independent species because they can change their environment for their own purpose. They might do so, like cutting down trees and blocking rivers to make their part of the river with less of a current. They also move probably twice in their lifetime. The Indians may have favored this lifestyle and decided to live as nomads and move wherever the game was plentiful. Beavers may also been desired because they have a special gland in their body called castoreum. This gland was often used for healing sicknesses. This may have made the tribes think that if they picked a beaver for their spiritual leader that they might be healed if sick. Also beavers are independant animals you never hear of a pack of beavers there may be 4 in a family (two parents two babies) but there not like wolves who live in packs of 20. I think that might also have influenced the native americans in in there spiritual leader choice.
