Bigfoot The Jumbo Ape
What is the Bigfoot?
In 1958, the first giant foot print of the jumbo ape-like creature which was around 60 cm long and 20 cm wide, was published in newspapers. It was a print of a very big foot and that was how the name of this alleged humanoid was coined as ‘Bigfoot’. The prints and sighting reports told by people had hinted at a monstrous looking animal of around 7 to 11 feet tall and 200-250 kg in weight, with all its body covered with thick hair. After that news many other giant foot prints were explored in the Bluff Creek. Most of the sighting reports of Bigfoot were found in the Pacific Northeast Region and some few sightings were also found near Great Lakes Region and South-eastern United States. Bigfoot like creature has always been the part of traditions in different countries with different names. Other names for Bigfoot include ‘Yeti’, which is similar to the Bigfoot but is said to be hidden in the Himalayan ranges; ‘sasquatch’, which basically means ‘wild animal’ according to Salish Native American language,’ Yowie’ in Australia and Alma in central Asia. ‘Marukarar’ and ‘Abominable Snowman’ are also used to describe the animal in other parts of the world.
