There have been so many and there will be many dates where people will say that the world is gonna finish on that date. I know and I have seen that. I remember some people saying that the world will end in 1995. The year came and then passed without anything happening. Then came 2000, or as better known Y2K.

There were people who could be seen visibly perturbed and shaken that at the end of the century the world will end and we are about to meet our demise. Here comes 2000 amid much fanfare, and nothing hapened. Soon, those who believed that the world will end came up with a new date, and then a new date, and then a new date. This went on till all of them converged on December 21, 2012. Why was this date chosen? Well there are many reasons for that:

Firstly, that the Earth will go from the galactic center and this will cause huge disasters on Earth. Well, is any one sure that this will happen. Did anyone see this with his own eyes when the previous one happened?

Secondly, the Mayan said so in their calender, and that their calender stops at a certain date. How can we be sure that the Mayans knew everything about astronomy. May be they couldn’t count more than what they had. Maybe, they didn’t have numbers above that count.

Thirdly and Lastly, Nostradamus said that in his prophecies. If he said so then all of his prophecies should end at 2012, Dec 21. But we see his prophecies going upto around 3900.

How come then can we say that the world will end on December 21, 2012. Surely, we will have to ponder about it with our own sane minds.
